Janet Barker grew up in upstate New York. She attended SUNY Albany and recieved a BA in Fine Art. After graduating, she was employed as a Dental Ceramist, fabricating porcelain crowns, which utilized her artistic skills.

She has recently gotten back into oil painting, and her work hangs in many homes across the country.
